Accessibility Statement

Revision date: December 18, 2023

Introduction

Activate Learning is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Activate Learning's ALDP platform has achieved WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA conformance.

This statement is based on Activate Learning’s internal accessibility review and an evaluation conducted by WebAIM, an external accessibility expert. Their statement can be found at the following link: WebAIM Verification of Conformance.

Accessibility Features

The following features support accessibility in ALDP:

  • Keyboard Navigation: Our application can be fully navigated using a keyboard, ensuring users who rely on screen readers or keyboard input can use our service with ease.
  • Screen Reader Compatibility: ALDP is compatible with screen readers, making it accessible to users with visual impairments.
  • Alternative Text: We provide alternative text for images and other non-text content to make the content understandable for users who rely on screen readers.
  • Contrast and Text Size: We ensure a sufficient contrast ratio between text and background elements and allow users to adjust text size to meet their needs.
  • Focus Indicators: Interactive elements have clear and visible focus indicators, enhancing usability for keyboard and screen reader users.
  •  Form Labels: All form fields are associated with explicit labels to help users understand the purpose of each field.
  • Closed Captions: closed captions are provided for video content that require it.
  • User Control: Users can pause, stop, or hide any moving, blinking, or scrolling content that might be distracting or cause seizures.
  • Adaptive Content: Our content and layout are designed to be responsive and adapt to various screen sizes and devices.

Where applicable ALDP incorporates a third-party plugin to further enhance its accessibility features. The third party includes the following features:

  • Make full adjustment to keyboard navigation
  • Complete adaptation to screen readers including role building
  • Access accurate ALT tag using image recognition technology (OCR and IRIS)
  • Change language with up to 10 built-in languages in the interface
  • Provide read-only mode
  • Adjust font sizes
  • Hide images and background images (distracting elements)
  • Alter contrast settings: lighten, darken, inverse or grayscale
  • Improve accessibility of tables
  • Emphasize links
  • Use the built-in dictionary and feedback forms
