Tier-1 Rating for Activate Learning OpenSciEd High School Biology

We're excited to announce that Activate Learning's version of OpenSciEd High School Biology has earned Tier-1 Rating from the Louisiana Department of Education. Activate Learning OpenSciEd Biology units correlate with the Louisiana Student Standards for Science (LSSS).

Activate Learning offers full implementation support to Louisiana educators for full fidelity curriculum implementation, including personalized professional learning, complete science kits to serve all students in the classroom, print teacher and student materials, and interactive content on the Activate Learning Digital Platform.

The Activate Learning certified version of OpenSciEd Middle School has received the prestigious Tier-1 Rating for Louisiana science curriculum. Our IQWST Middle School science curriculum has been Tier-1 for a few years, and together this recognition signifies the strength of our curricula in fostering exceptional science education.

What does this Tier-1 rating for Louisiana science curriculum mean for educators and students in Louisiana ?

• Our middle school science curriculum is aligned to Louisiana Student Standards for Science (LSSS), has been vetted and approved by the Louisiana Department of Education, AND qualifies for Super App funding.
• A Tier-1 curriculum is the highest rating given by the Louisiana Department of Education and indicates that the curriculum meets the state's rigorous standards for content, pedagogy, and assessment.
• A Tier-1 curriculum is research-based, aligned with LSSS and national science standards, and is designed to develop students' critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
