**The capstone project in Module 8.4 is presented as a separate module to provide maximum flexibility for the 8th-grade year. The layout and rules of other modules apply differently for this module, a project that will address different combinations of Life, Earth, Physical Science, and Engineering Standards from across grade levels. For Module 8.4, students choose topics (or investigations) for a research project that focuses on human impacts on the world around us, and on our collective and individual roles in important system interactions.
